In an attempt to violate the traditions of the temple was stopped by the devotees of Lord Ayyappa in Sabarimala on 5th November. Anju (age-30 years) came to Pampa on 5th November and asked for police protection for darshan along with her family persons. Anju told to the
police that her husband forced her to visit Sabarimala for darshan and that is why she came.
Her husband Vijith alias Abhilash is the brother of a CPM local committee secretary in Cherthala, Alappuzha. There are also reports that her husband is also an accused in a murder case in Alappuzha & also in case of bootlegging.
When the devotees of Lord Ayyappa came to know about this entire incident… These people led by Hindu Aikya Vedi president Sasikala teacher, gathered near the police station and starting chanting prayers and hymns. When the police were informed about Vijith’s criminal background, they were not permitted for Darshan. And also the local people and devotees assembled outside her house back in her native place and started chanting prayers and hymns of Lord Ayyappa outside of her house.
